This may come as a surprise to you, but this is something you have in abundance. You have birth rights and you have the ability to choose what is right for you and your baby.

Medical professionals can advise, friends and family could coerce, but you are the one who actually gets to choose.

Where would you like to give birth? Home, birth centre, hospital or other?

Who would you like your care provider to be? NHS Midwife, Independent Midwife, Obstetrician?

Who would you like with you? Partner, parent, friend, Doula?

What pain relief would you like to consider? Birth pool, light touch massage, tense machine or other?

You have SO MANY options and we discuss all of them in Class Three of your birth preparation classes.

Think of it like this…if you don’t know your options, then you don’t have any, as you will just follow protocol, and this is when women start to feel a lack a control. Take ownership of your labour and birth ladies. Research all of your options thoroughly so you know what feels right for you and your baby.
