WHY DID I CHOOSE "EQUILIBRIUM"?
The word ‘equilibrium’ is one that I remember from my childhood. It was on a poster in the town I grew up in. It had a purple background and white writing. I always liked the way it sounded and I used to practice saying it over and over again trying to get it right…
eeek-will-ib-reee-um. Eek-wil-ibrium. Equilibrium!!
It wasn’t until years later, after walking past this familiar poster maybe 1000 times, I realised the poster was advertising for a yoga class.
What does Equilibrium mean then, I thought to myself?
Balance.
Huh, I like that.
Still now, when I drive past that same place, even though the poster is no longer there, I always say to myself “Equilibrium.”
Not only is its definition, balance, but it also means calmness, serenity and stability.
I don’t know about you, but I have always felt that childbirth is the most delicate, fascinating, and powerful event that will ever take place in a woman’s life, and with the right preparation throughout your pregnancy, you absolutely can achieve the most beautiful, serene experience of welcoming your baby into this world.
Who wouldn’t want that?
Equilibrium – “A calm state of mind.” “Emotional control.”
