I was a lucky lady the other day to be in the presence of Trisha Mayes, Senior Manager of Tropic Skincare, a 100% natural skincare brand in the UK (all hand made in Surrey ladies and gentlemen.)

Trisha was bringing out some pretty phenomenal facts about how chemicals and toxins enter our blood stream, which in turn enter our babies blood stream when they are in the womb. A staggering bit of research that I keep thinking about, is that recently a scientific research project took a sample of blood from a new born baby’s umbilical cord and found over 2000 (yes, 2000!!) toxins in that blood that came from natural aggressors like pollution but also the makeup and skincare products that we put on our skin when we are pregnant.

We all know that we have to avoid certain foods, drinks, hey even lifestyle tendencies in general when we are pregnant, so why do we neglect what we put on our skin during pregnancy?

Me, I love a bit of makeup. Body lotions, not so much. However, I honestly had no idea just how damaging wearing even a foundation can be during pregnancy. Of course, what we put on our skin should be 100% natural, free of chemicals, alcohol, preservatives etc, we do know this, but we don’t tend to really do much about it.

I was lucky enough to indulge in these glorious, natural products after our meeting, and I can honestly say that my skin has never looked so clear or felt so smooth. It has been an absolute joy to use them and the textures have felt so luxurious without that overpowering scent you can sometimes get with skincare products. The whole week I used them I felt like I had been transported to a faraway holiday destination (Mauritius came to mind) and I felt like my skin was receiving a well-deserved treat! I can highly recommend!!

For a company that is only 4 years old, they have already won over 70 awards. How incredible is that!?

Trisha holds parties in your own home with friends of your choice if you fancy a good gander through her AMAZING products. I can highly recommend this service as Trisha is absolutely lovely, fun, very knowledgeable and generally just an awesome woman!

I should state that Tropic skincare is certified by:

All products are free from:
